Can someone post the link, as I would love to read about the suit. And if I am facing a rebuild, I was considering already going i7, but I might just go AMD like Greg and so many of you others.

Don't knock the Core i7 920 or higher. I would agree the Core i7 800's aren't a huge improvement performance wise over the Core 2 Quad's. They are how ever more efficient, probably dock your electric bill half what the old Core2 systems would. I personally run a Phenom II 940 BE at 3.4ghz. Clock for clock its pretty damn close to the Core2Quad's, but won't compete anywhere near a Core i7 920. I only suggest the Core i7 920's for enthusiasts really willing to blow more than $2,000 just on their tower. Otherwise I do try and talk a gamer into a Phenom II 955 or 965. Some of the troubles surfacing with the Socket 1156 systems, its practically not worthwhile to use a Core i5 750 - Core i7 860.
Looking forward to the six core CPU's comming this Spring and Summer. AMD's Six Core Phenom II will run on a Socket AM3 motherboard from what I understand. And of course Intel is introducing Socket 1766. Their first Six Core is supposed to have a MSRP of $1,500 just for the CPU, AMD's is expected around $250 - $300.

I'm not knocking them. But the i7's are showing minimal gain in gaming. An that's what my whole post is about. If your using them for HD video and other type's of applications go right ahead and spend the money on an i7. But if you looking for a gaming PC there is no reason to spend the extra 100 on an 920. When the 965 will give you almost the same performance for games.

Pretty much what it comes down to is their the same in performance as most games only use 50% of a Phenom II 965, where as they barely push 30-35% usage of a Core i7 920. If we actually had the software on the market to push a i7 920 gaming wise this would be a whole different story. Our beloved Phenom II's will probably meet their equal in software a lot sooner than a Core i7 920 or better.

Some of the new Core i5 CPU's have a 900mhz GPU core in them, in addition to their 2 logical cores. Even though its 900mhz, a lot of people say they don't ammount to shit unfortunately, when compared to AMD's IGP Radeon 4200 or 3200.

I didn't read the article but it's pretty well known that they did this all the time in the Pentium 4 era. Benchmarks for newer chips should be relatively accurate.
